The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has printed and made available for download two versions of an “Internet Safety Guide.” One version is designed for parents and one for distribution to teenagers. The Manchester Union Leader reports that
The guide offers parents tips on methods used by predators to lure and groom victims and how to spot warning signs that a child may have been approached. It also includes a primer on the strange combinations of letters, numbers and symbols that form an entire vocabulary of acronyms teens use in electronic message and online chats.
For teens, it gives advice on selecting screen names, cyberstalking, and how much personal information to post online.
